All Virginia Beach high school students are invited to play. High schools with water polo teams are: 

Cox High School

Kellam High School

Kempsville High School

Landstown High School

Ocean Lakes High School

Princess Anne High School (community team)

Salem High School (community team)

If your school is not listed, you can join one of the community teams! 

Not a VBHS student? All middle school (regardless of location), private school, homeschool, or non-VBHS students have the opportunity to play with our CoVA Fall Team.

Please renew your membership, or join AWP, by August 19. If you are a Virginia Beach high school student, select Virginia Beach High School League. If you are a middle school student, are homeschooled, attend a private school, or attend a public high school outside of Virginia Beach, select  Kraken CoVA Water Polo.

A completed/signed physical (dated after May 1, 2024) is required before any athlete can get in the pool. Please make sure your physical is on file with your school's Student Activities Coordinator - physicals will be verified.

As a club sport, the Virginia Beach High School Water Polo League (a non-profit organization), does not receive any funds from Virginia Beach City Public Schools. Club dues, fundraising, and sponsorships cover all operating expenses including coach/referee salaries, equipment, and league activities. Financial assistance for club dues may be available if a hardship exists. Please also inquire about the free or reduced-fee membership programs for American Water Polo.
